Installation instructions for the Models 2000 and
2018 units.

Installation is simple -- and you only need two tools --- a drill and a pair of tin snips.

- Remove the Second Wind Air Purifier from the carton
and than remove the cardboard sleeve from around the
lamp(s).
- The 2018 and 2000 can be installed on either the supply
or return air side of the system. For the best results we
usually recommend installing the unit just before the filter
on the return side, or just after the evaporator coil on the
supply side.
- After choosing the most appropriate location for the unit
use the cardboard tube as a template and trace a circle
where you want to locate the unit. On the 2018 the circle
should be cut 1/4 inch larger than the cardboard tube to allow
for the trap door. If the duct or plenum is made of duct board
see #4.
- DUCT BOARD INSTALLATIONS - To mount unit on
duct board
plenums or ducting, cut piece of sheet metal approximately 6
inches
larger in length and width than the Second Wind unit.
Using the
cut-out template, cut the appropriate holes in the piece
of sheet metal
and the duct board. Mount the interlock switch
plate and the unit to
the piece of sheet metal. Secure the piece
of sheet metal to the
duct board with fasteners, mastic and or
foil tape.
Ultra-violet light is harmful to the
eyes, only operate the
Second Wind when the unit is fully installed in the duct system
and never look at the lamps when they are energized.
